Meet Nick Tocco, PA-C

Nick is a board-certified physician assistant and a Diplomate Fellow of the Society of Dermatology Physician Associates. He’s experienced in general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, with a particular focus on careful, thorough skin exams and the early detection of skin cancer.

His philosophy is simple: treat every patient the way he would a member of his own family. That means listening closely, answering every question, and building care plans around the individual, not the condition.

Nick lives in Venice with his wife and four children. He sees patients at our Venice and Lakewood Ranch (SR 70) locations and is currently welcoming new patients with same-day and next-day availability.

What Patients Are Saying

Real reviews from patients we’ve cared for across the region.
Fredrick Richards
Came to Arsenault for treatment of several pre-cancerous keratoses and they did a great job not only of taking care of the problems but of explaining the biology, the treatments and prevention in the future. They’re very careful when a treatment might be a bit uncomfortable and seem genuinely interested in your condition. Nice people all around. Just did my 2nd annual check up with Christina Troiano PA-C and nurse Margie — both were extremely thorough and gracious. I plan to continue check ups with Arsenault and to rely on the good people there to catch any serious skin issues that may crop up.
Update: Couple years later and still enjoying my visits, and trusting the Arsenault staff. Lately I'm being examined and treated by Rachel Hinds, who is wonderfully careful and thorough.

Everyone is really very nice. I was taken on time ( or slightly early ). The procedure was explained to me in great detail and the nurse and doctor attending me very professional and I was out of there with my instructions in short order. The office followed up the next day to see how I was doing. My longtime former dermatologist retired so I'm glad I to be referred to this practice.

Ran right on time. Greeted with a smile. Everyone working there was pleasant. The Dr was familiar with my case, remembered treating me and it's just a very pleasant place to go to with Dr's who listen and take the time they need to treat you.
Bryan Hyland
Every Arsenal office that I've been to has been a great experience, everyone greets me with a smile, I have not seen a frown on any of the staff, and I love the fact that all of the procedures, pre and post-op, are made very easy to understand.
Jessica Nehrboss
This is our second visit, we absolutely love Olivia! There was a little misunderstanding at checkout, as I paid when I walked in (cash pay), but Olivia fixed the problem and we were on our way! Great experience! (And I have to admit we have terrible anxiety when it comes to anything medical related. ) Olivia really helped calm our nerves.
Steve Bloom
Knowledgeable, patient and experienced. You can find considerably less expensive aids but continued service education and knowledge is not available. Decided to pay retail and even lf same device can be found for a few dollars less, the warranty and the office that discovered our insurance can cover 40% of cost well worth it.
Thomas Hayden
Excellent experience everyone was very nice.
Provided detailed information on what was to be done and what was to follow. Also wanted me not to be concerned even though I am. Really felt they care for me as a person not just another patient that's making work for them.
They enjoy helping people both physically and mentally and really what the best outcome for you.
Teri Malave
I haven’t been to a dermatologist for awhile and I am so HAPPY that Arsenault was recommended to me, I now Highly recommend them as well, super patient, kind and will take the time to talk to you about your concerns.
Thank you!!
skin cancer early detection

Skin Health Education

Why Early Detection Matters

Most skin cancers are highly treatable when caught early. The five-year survival rate for melanoma detected in its earliest stage is 99%. That number drops sharply once the cancer has spread, which is why regular skin checks are one of the most important things you can do for your long-term health.

Nick performs thorough, full-body skin exams using dermoscopy, a specialized technique that magnifies skin lesions so subtle warning signs are easier to spot. He also looks for changes in existing moles, comparing them over time to identify anything new or unusual.

If you’ve noticed a mole that’s changed in size, shape, or color, or if it’s been a year or more since your last skin check, now is the time to book.

What to Watch Out For

The ABCDEs of Mole Changes

  • A is for Asymmetry. One half of the mole doesn’t match the other.
  • B is for Border. The edges are irregular, scalloped, or poorly defined.
  • C is for Color. The mole has varied colors or shades.
  • D is for Diameter. The mole is larger than a pencil eraser (about 6mm).
  • E is for Evolving. The mole has changed in size, shape, or color over time.
If you notice any of these signs, schedule an evaluation as soon as possible.

Your first visit typically lasts 30 to 60 minutes. Nick will start with a thorough consultation, then perform any examinations or screenings needed. He'll walk you through any findings, answer your questions, and outline a clear plan for next steps.

Watch for changes in size, shape, or color, as well as moles with irregular borders or moles that look different from the others on your skin. Use the ABCDE method (Asymmetry, Border, Color, Diameter, Evolving) as a guide. If you notice any changes, schedule an evaluation as soon as possible.

Wear easily removable clothing and skip makeup, artificial tanner, or nail polish on the day of your visit. Nick will need a clear view of your skin to perform a thorough examination.
