Our highly experienced injectors are specially trained to help restore a youthful yet natural appearance.
Dermal filler is an injectable product made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance made by the body to increase skin volume and fullness. Dermal filler can be used to specifically target areas that are lacking volume and fullness. Some examples include filling in skin creases and lines, adding volume to the lips and cheeks, and enhancing facial contours. Some popular FDA-approved hyaluronic acid-based fillers include JUVEDERM and Restylane.
Some of the most common areas to treat using dermal fillers include replacing volume loss of the checks and lips, correcting marionette lines and nasolabial folds, softening fine lines and creases, and jawline contouring. Dermal fillers are a great non-surgical treatment option to treat and correct signs of aging, giving you a natural more youthful look. Filler is visible immediately following treatment; however it can take up to two weeks before you see your final results following the recovery period. Filler can last anywhere from 6 months up to 2 years depending on the type of filler used and the location in the face it is placed.
If possible, one week prior to your treatment, avoid taking aspirin, NSAID medications (Advil, Motrin, Aleve or Ibuprofen), gingko biloba, vitamin E or fish oil supplements. These agents may increase bleeding and bruising at the injection site. Bruising can be a common part of the recovery time following a procedure with filler. We recommend waiting to schedule important social events at least 10 days following the procedure. If bruising does occur, we recommend using DerMend bruise cream until bruising has resolved.
After treatment, icing the treatments areas on and off for the remainder of the day is advisable. It is recommended to avoid working out for at least 24 hours. Do not have a massage face down for two weeks after filler. Do not take Ibuprofen or Aspirin for 36 hours after filler. Normal gentle face washing and wearing makeup can resume following the procedure.
